A greater quantity of travelers are buying into off-web site tours that supply possibilities to explore the culture, cuisine, history and individuals in nearby communities.

Guests can sign up for the daylong tour that visits San Sebastian del Oest, after a thriving provincial capital and a silver- and gold-mining center.
Today, it is a tiny town of cobblestone streets and colorful, standard architecture, nestled in the Sierra Madre Mountains, about 90 minutes east of Puerto Vallarta.

San Sebastian has craft shops and a couple of restaurants and cafes and gives a taste of old Mexico for its guests.
The drive to and from San Sebastian provides visitors a glimpse of life in rural Mexico, where haciendas and goats are frequent sights along the roadway, roadside vendors sell fresh tortillas and little ones in school uniforms play in schoolyards.
The tour includes breakfast, lunch and bottled water and is included in the Cultural Tour package offered at the resort that also functions an upgrade to a master suite along with sparkling wine and strawberries delivered upon arrival.
A 50-minute massage and roundtrip airport transfers also are part of the package, available by way of Dec. 22.
The rate starts at $ 275 per individual, per evening, double, and a five-night minimum remain is essential.
